KINGBOROUGH EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The Kingborough Emergency Management Committee is continuing their work on undertaking a new risk assessment for Kingborough.  The previous assessment was undertaken in 2003 as part of a Statewide project.

The Committee is piloting a new risk assessment process "Community Emergency Risk Assessment (CERA)" that was developed by Victorian SES and provided to Kingborough for trialling in Tasmania.  The Committee has identified 20 risks and has sought input from the agencies responsible for the management of risk on a day to day basis.

The CERA project will be completed over the next months and the Committee will present a report to Council with a series of recommendations to assist in the mitigation and/or recovery from a number of the risks.

A reminder that if you wish to discuss any matters associated with emergency management in Kingborough you may contact the community representatives (list below) or Council's Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator, Mr Ian Holloway on 6211 8204.
